Player Information

COLUMBUS
Players who are interested in the tryout process to become a member of the Columbus Eagles are invited to contact our Head Coach, Tony Daniels at danielst3@ohiodominican.edu

Players at least 14 years of age are welcome to tryout.  There is no upper age limit.  The Eagles play in the Women’s Premier Soccer League in the summer and the Major Arena Soccer League Women during the winter.  Players can tryout for either roster (or both).

In order to participate in the tryout, each player must complete liability and photo/video release forms along with a player commitment agreement prior to participating.

Players should be dressed in a black t-shirt, black shorts, black socks and appropriate footwear.

Playing for the Eagles: a pathway to pro

Whether you’re a current high school or college player or a post-graduate looking to continue your soccer career, the Eagles are the place for you to grow. Playing for the club ensures you’ll get top-quality coaching and mentoring at one of the premier women’s soccer clubs in the nation.

The club continually seeks connections with Pro teams both here in the US and abroad.  If you have what it takes to play at the highest level, we will assist you by helping you develop your game and make connections for you.

Taking your game to the next level

Eagles boss Tony Daniels is one of the most respected coaches in the area. He’s the head coach of the Ohio Dominican University women’s soccer program. He and the Eagles coaching staff will work with you in the spring and summer months to make you a better, more well-rounded soccer player.

Players who have played Pro/Overseas

Sydney Blomquist

Sydney Blomquist, a Maryland native, played for the Eagles in 2015 and has gone on to play for Västerås BK30 in Sweden, for Aland in Finland, and for Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.

Andrea Vera

Vera, who played more than 200 minutes in goal for the Eagles in 2019, made Ecuador’s World Cup roster in 2015 and currently plays abroad in Italy.

Ashley Gogolin

The current Eagles captain graduated from Wright State University and made the Chicago Red Stars preseason roster in 2017 before playing a season for the Red Star Reserves.

Megan Minnix

Megan Minnix, a University of Charlotte alumna and a standout Eagles defender since 2018, played a season for FC Sport in Vaasa, Finland in 2011.

Shannon Flower

Shannon Flower, an Indiana University graduate, played for the Eagles from 2016-2018 and currently plays in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
