We are thrilled to compete for the title once again in the Women’s Premier Soccer League, the biggest women’s soccer league in the world, and we hope you can follow and support this journey with us!

Our PILLARS
FAMILY
Late during our 2017 season, midfielder Kelly DeNiro scored an equalizing goal against our rivals, the Cleveland Ambassadors. This goal sealed the deal for our best-ever season to date. After the match, our Eagles put their hands in and midfielder Summer Bourcier started the cheer with “family” on three. Our club has always been close-knit, and this game really proved it. Our Family membership is our most popular season-ticket level, and we love welcoming families and generations alike to our home matches.
FAMILY
Late in our 2017 season, Kelly DeNiro scored an equalizing goal against our Cincinnati rivals and sealed our best-ever season. After the match, all the Eagles all put their hands in and midfielder Summer Bourcier started the breakdown with “Family” on three… Our club has always been close-knit, and that moment sealed it. Our ‘Family’ membership is our most popular season-ticket level, and we love welcoming moms, dads, and grandparents (and their young children and grandchildren!) to our matches.
COMMUNITY
We are very appreciative of the soccer community here in Columbus whose culture is more inclusive, more diverse, and stronger than ever. We are thrilled to be associated with generous soccer fans who believe in the power of togetherness to reach a common goal: empower and inspire young girls and boys to be their best selves, on and off the pitch. Our Community Membership level aims to bring people and local organizations to our Eagles family. We have also been a proud ally of #SaveTheCrew, a movement in which the goal is to show the importance of soccer to the community off the field. Having a space that is open to all is vital to us and so we welcome everyone to be a member of our soccer family.
COMMUNITY
If 2018 taught us anything, it’s that the Columbus soccer culture is more inclusive, more diverse, and stronger than ever. We’re thrilled to be associated with generous soccer fans who believe in the power of collective; in its ability to empower and inspire young girls and boys to be their best selves, on and off the pitch. This year, we launched our Community membership level, which aims to bring more people and more local organizations into our Eagles family. Building an inclusive, diverse community around our soccer club will always be important to us.
SOCCER
“Grow the game” is a phrase we use a lot within our Eagles family. We have had this as our mission from the beginning: to bring professional women’s soccer to Columbus, and we feel we’re closer than ever to achieving that goal. Our players and coaches strive to make the quality of play the highest in the WPSL and PASL. Through the fight, we are well on our way to success. Additionally, we aim to bring the beautiful game of soccer to soccer fans throughout central Ohio. We hope we can make a lasting impact here in Ohio within the sport of soccer.
SOCCER
“Grow the game” is a phrase we hear and use a lot. Our players and coaches strive to make our quality of play the highest in the WPSL. After back-to-back record seasons, we’re well on our way. We aim to bring the beautiful game to young boys and girls in central Ohio. We organize clinics and camps throughout the year, and our players serve as teachers and role models for future soccer stars. Lastly, we’ve had this as our mission from the beginning: We aim to bring professional women’s soccer to Columbus, and we feel we’re closer than ever to achieving that goal.
Our HISTORY
founded 2014
On May 7, 2014, we debuted in the Women’s Premier Soccer League, sporting a roster full of college and post-graduate players who were mostly Columbus natives. We got our first WPSL win a year later, a 1-0 victory over FC Indiana, courtesy on an 80th-minute strike from Peyton Miller. Since then, we have continued to build our momentum in the WPSL.
MOMENTUS DAY
On June 25, 2016, the Eagles played Cincinnati Sirens FC at MAPFRE Stadium, the previous home of the MLS team Columbus Crew SC. We became the first WPSL team to host a match in an MLS stadium. After two late goals by Molly Cornwell, we beat the Sirens 2-1. Later that night, the Crew took the same field and Ola Kamara scored a stoppage-time equalizer against the New York Red Bulls.
TAKING FLIGHT
We hit full stride in 2017 when the Eagles set records for wins, points, and goals scored which helped us to a best-ever league finish. We went back to MAPFRE Stadium for round two against Cincinnati and beat the Sirens again 4-2. After the season, defender Amber Kern, as well as newcomers Dani Gunderson, Lisa Nouanesengsy, and Kelly DeNiro all earned WPSL All-Star honors.
STILL CLIMBING
In 2018, the Eagles managed to break the club records once again. We were the only team to take points from the eventual East Region champion, the Cleveland Ambassadors, drawing with them 3-3. In our season finale, we beat Steel City FC 2-1 to solidify our second-place finish in the WPSL’s Valley Division, our highest ever finish in Eagle’s history. Our captain Amber Kern became a back-to-back league All-Star, and first-year players Megan Minnix and Ashley Gogolin also earned the honor.
A NEW ERA
2019 came with change: a new logo, fresh matchday kits, and our strongest roster ever, all under first-year head coach Matt Ogden. The Eagles played some of the most attractive attacking soccer and were the only team to take points from the eventual Ohio Valley Division and East Region champions. Additionally, four Eagles were named to the WPSL’s all-conference team.
A NEW HOME
2023 brought a change in venue. Due to a new turf project at Capital University, the Eagles sought a new venue for their home matches. After much thought and deliberation, the Crew’s Historic Crew Stadium was chosen as their new home.
The draw of playing in such a hollowed soccer location where the US Men’s national team defeated Mexico 2-0 (and created the Dos e zero chant) and where the US Women’s national team played many games brought out the best of Columbus and our team roster was stronger than ever
A BEST EVER SEASON
The 2023 PASL season culminated in a run for the National Championship and the WPSL season ended with the Eagles winning the National Road divisional championship. For the first time ever, the Eagles advanced to the Conference Championship game where they were defeated in a double overtime game in Milwaukee 2-1.
Our FUTURE
LOOKING FORWARD
Here at the Eagles, we see a bright future ahead; a future full of exciting results on the pitch as well as connections within the community. With our firm mission and pillars, we are ready to tackle 2024 and beyond. To the Eagles fans: we do all of this because of the support you have shown us since we kicked off more than seven years ago. Let’s keep the spotlight shining on soccer in Columbus, our home. Thank you!

Eagles’ midfielder Larissa Najjar, a professional graphic designer by day, designed the club’s new crest and logo elements. She worked closely with Eagles’ COO Grant Burkhardt to workshop and ultimately finalize the design, about which we are all extremely excited. The design matches our vision for the future: bright, crisp, and youthful and the emphasis on black and gold keeps the Columbus soccer culture front and center.
Special thanks to Eagles’ CEO Mark Wise, Eagles’ sales director Scott Haag, Eagles’ midfielder and special projects manager Kelly DeNiro, local design professional Nicole Burkhardt, local developer and writer Leigh Pittner, the “Eagles Nest” supporters group, our club’s advisory board, and countless others who provided feedback and support throughout the design process. The Eagles spent a great deal of time crafting a new image that encapsulates what we stand for. We’re very proud of the work and excited about the future of our growing soccer club.
