Columbus Eagles FC is proud to announce the hiring of Tayla Davis as its first Brand Journalist. The Ohio State University sophomore will be the on-camera personality of the Eagles. She’ll record promotional material, conduct interviews with players and coaches and more throughout the season. She will also be in charge of the Eagles’ social media platforms during matches.
Davis comes highly recommended: She is a reporter for the Big Ten Network’s “Student U” program and covers Ohio State University sports for The Lantern. She also previously interned with Columbus Crew SC. She manages her own YouTube channel and blog, too.
“I’m very excited to get started with the Eagles,” Davis said. “I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone involved with the team and am excited to be covering the team this season!”
EagleTV is expanding seemingly by the day. The club’s video arm has made a few hires already in 2018 – Jeff Schaffer as Director of Video and now Davis as the club’s Brand Journalist – and has attracted Triple Digit Speed Pitch as its first video-specific sponsor.
EagleTV Is Flying High
EagleTV will continue to stream live matches to the club’s website, YouTube, and Facebook, and will produce stories about the club. Also, the club’s YouTube channel subscribers increased to nearly 200, thanks to a grassroots push by soccer fans in Columbus.
The next stream on EagleTV will be the club’s match against Ohio Dominican University on April 22 at 7 p.m. You can tune in on the Eagles website here or on any of the club’s social media platforms.
