Sitting just a point of the top of the WPSL’s Ohio Valley division, the Eagles travel west on Saturday for a massive clash with Dayton Dutch Lions (1-0-0, 3 points).
Columbus started the league season with a win at Ann Arbor on May 11 before dropping a 3-2 decision to Cincinnati this past Sunday.
After training this week at SuperKick Columbus – a great partner of the Eagles and the club’s indoor training home – captain Ashley Gogolin talked about the team’s start to the season. Watch the full video interview above in our MyCujoo club channel.
“First half, we controlled the half, just didn’t finish our chances,” Gogolin said of Sunday’s match in which the Eagles led twice. “In the second half, we were extremely sloppy, we played a kickball game. Definitely not our game. We have a lot to work on, a lot to move forward on.”
“We have to be on each other, be committed as hard as you can be every practice,” Gogolin said. “It’s a chemistry issue. Learn from it, move forward, don’t make the same mistakes twice.”
Saturday’s match against the Dutch Lions is scheduled for 4 p.m. at DOC Stadium in Dayton, Ohio. The match will be streamed on MyCujoo and here on the Eagles website.
