After her 64th minute goal lifted Columbus Eagles FC to a win Saturday over AAFC Lumberjills, Rian Reid talked to Tayla Davis about her debut performance for the club. Reid deflected a cross over the goal line less than five minutes after being substituted onto the field for her first appearance as an Eagle. The Wright State University forward just joined the Eagles a few weeks ago after finishing her freshman year with the Raiders.
Lisa Nouanesengsy scored just a minute later to put the match out of reach, and the Eagles climbed to the top of the WPSL Valley division table after the first weekend of play. In other Valley action, Cleveland beat Rochester 4-2 to earn three points to start its season.
The Eagles return to action when they travel to Cincinnati Sirens FC on Saturday at 5 p.m. The club’s next home match is June 3 at 7 p.m. at Otterbein University against Motor City FC of Detroit, Mich. Tickets are on sale for the June 3 game online on the club’s website.
